Prince Louis royal baby room decor inspiration mood board

The Royal Baby Room – Prince Louis Edition

It’s a boy. But not just any boy – he is a prince. Kate and Wills announced the birth of their third child – a little brother for George and Charlotte. And his name is Louis Arthur Charles. And decked out in Union Jack hues, the royal couple inspired inspired a royal baby mood board.

British colours

Red, white and blue are oft associated with America on this side of the pond. But the Union Jack should never be underestimated. After all, it’s with intention that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge presented their baby boy to the world dressed perfectly in these three colours. (Also, Lady Di wore red when she presented Prince Harry.) And with elegant English style that is perfect for Prince Louis, we paired the two statement colours (and the classic white neutral) with a grey-blue and brown.

Traditional English Details

This royal family is modern. And so is our inspiration – with a tradition that looks English. So we’re eyeing baby furniture with wood details, veneers and carvings that create a silhouette that is fitting of a baby’s room in Kensington palace.

Plus, don’t you just love how the Morgan crib has a shape not unlike the iconic London phone booths?

And the cherry red Justine swivel chair is the perfect spot for Kate to soothe her new son.

But we think Prince George will adore our plans for a Prince Louis-inspired baby’s room – a shared room with his little bro when they stay at Buckingham Palace. And, in our royal baby room mood board, Kate has the foresight to give her wee Prince another convertible crib that will grow with him. The Finley crib transforms from a crib to a toddler bed to a day bed.

The next big event for the royal family? The wedding for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle! Here’s how we think they should decorate.
