Christmas is the time of giving, there’s no doubt about that! Though as much as giving gifts is a pleasure like no other, it can also be a stressful to try to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list!

That’s why I like to start thinking about Christmas gifts early enough not to panic in mid December and I just love making my own gifts from the pantry. They are great for those last-minute I-forgot-we had an exchange going on gifting. They are great for a neighbours gift or that missing stocking stuffer. Also, I believe that these hand made gifts show that your care, even though they take much less time then any other Christmas shopping! You can even make a basket full of them and gift only this to all the ladies on your list.. I’m sure they’ll see how much you love them!

So my favourite DIY pantry gift is a home-made sugar scrub! I remember when I used to spend a lot of money on fancy scrubs only to discover how easy they are to make!

So here are my three favourite sugar scrubs recipes that are ridiculously easy to make, smell amazing and are just perfect for gifting:

Citrus sugar scrub:

  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 table spoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Peppermint sugar scrub:

  • 1 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candy
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Vanilla coconut brown sugar scrub:

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 table spoon coconut oil
  • 1 table spoon vanilla essence

Mix sugars with oil, then add the third required ingredient. Pour in to a small meson jar. Keep up to two weeks.

Now, all you need is a pretty bow to wrap the jar, and a big high-five for making your own gifts this year! Also, don’t forget to make one for yourself, since they leave the skis so smooth and nourished as the most fancy of body scrubs out there!
